Are you a new bar licensee looking to jumpstart your legal career or a law practitioner returning to private practice? Don't miss the must-attend event of the year — the 2025 "Learning the Ropes" seminar from November 12-14 in Portland! This dynamic three-day conference, sponsored by the Professional Liability Fund, is designed to give new legal professionals the CLE credits, information, and essential skills they need to thrive. To view the full agenda click on Program Materials on this page.
The event takes place in person November 12-14, 2025, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, 1000 NE Multnomah Street, Portland, OR 97232. We will not be livestreaming it for remote attendance. Your $75 registration fee covers the entire program, two lunches, and e-materials. Past attendees speak of this conference as an incredibly useful resource to begin their legal career.
Here's why you can't miss it:
- Master the essentials: Learn from experienced legal professionals about building a thriving practice, avoiding pitfalls, and setting up efficient office systems – all the knowledge you need to launch your legal career, whether private practice, government, or in-house.
- Earn MCLE credit: This practical-skills CLE seminar will cover diverse legal topics and fulfill all first-year reporting requirements for new law practitioners, including ethics, mental health and substance use, and introductory access to justice.
- Network with the best: Meet judges and bar leaders at exclusive luncheons (included in registration fee!). It's a fantastic opportunity to build connections and gain valuable insights.
- Register now: If you have a bar number and password for the OSB website, use those credentials to log in and register on the PLF website.
The deadline to register is Monday, November 3, 2025, by 4:30 pm.
