Learning The Ropes 2023

Date:November 7, 2023

If you are entering private practice, looking for a nuts-and-bolts CLE about practicing law in Oregon, and need to fulfill all of your first-year OSB MCLE reporting requirements, please read on!

The Professional Liability Fund is proud to sponsor its 2023 “Learning the Ropes” seminar, a practical skills CLE for new admittees and lawyers entering private practice in the state of Oregon. The program content includes information on developing a successful practice and avoiding legal malpractice; practical tips from lawyers and judges; advice on setting up effective office systems; ethics guidance; presentations by a variety of lawyers from different areas of law; mental health and substance use education; and segments that fulfill your Introductory Access to Justice requirements.

Attendance at the full program will satisfy OSB MCLE requirements for new admittees’ first reporting period. (Your MCLE reporting requirements are separate from the New Lawyer Mentoring Program [NLMP] of the Oregon State Bar.) The conference will be held in person Tuesday through Thursday, November 7, 8, and 9, 2023, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, 1000 NE Multnomah Street, Portland, OR 97232. We will not livestream the event for remote attendance. Your $75 registration fee includes the entire CLE and e-materials.

We are also excited to announce the Meet the Judges and Bar Leaders Luncheons happening on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively. The registration fee includes both lunches.

The deadline to register is Monday, October 30, 2023.

We hope you will join us in November for this highly regarded annual CLE program!
