Ready, Set, eFile: OJD’s New eFile Site Is Live

Ready, Set, eFile: OJD’s New eFile Site Is Live

If you file in Oregon’s circuit courts or the Oregon Tax Court, the eFiling website you have used for years is being retired. The Oregon Judicial Department (OJD) launched its new File & Serve site on August 12, 2026, and the old site will shut down on Monday, December 7, 2026. After that, the only way to eFile will be through the new site. Get started by clicking on the green “Start Now” button on the OJD eFile page.

The new system is available now, and OJD strongly encourages filers to start using it today rather than waiting for the deadline. The PLF is helping OJD spread the word, and we have teamed up with OJD staff to offer a free webinar on October 29 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. to walk you through the new site. You can register for the webinar on the PLF website. Do not let December 7 be the first day you try the new system.

Why the Change and What Is Different

The main driver for the new site is security. OJD moved to a more secure platform, and with that change filers get a modernized, more user-friendly interface and faster loading times.

What’s Changed

  • A new look. The screens are laid out differently, so expect a bit of a learning curve even though the underlying fields may be familiar.
  • Use any browser. The new site works with all modern browsers. You are no longer limited to a particular browser to file.
  • Greater size limits. Document size limits have increased from 25 MB to 50 MB. Envelope size limits have increased from 35 MB to 75 MB.
  • Default county and case type. A new user-setting feature lets you set a default court and case type. If most of your filings go to the same court, set this once and skip those dropdowns on every subsequent filing.
  • Your templates do not come with you. This is the change most likely to catch busy offices off guard. Start creating them in the new site now.

What’s Staying the Same

  • User login and account information. You will be able to log in with the same credentials you used for the old site.
  • The data you enter. Every data field in the new system is the same as in the old one. Case categories, types, filing codes, service contacts, and payment accounts all work the same way.
  • The rules. UTCR Chapter 21 still governs eFiling and eService. Nothing about document formatting, PDF requirements, or filing deadlines has changed.
  • Tech support. Tyler Technologies will continue to provide technical support for the new site, with the same phone number, email, and Help Center (details below).
  • Where to find it. The green “Start Now” button on the OJD eFile page will take you to the new site.

The biggest change for most practitioners is that any templates you built and used in the old system will not migrate to the new one. When the old site goes dark on December 7, those templates go with it.

If your office relies on templates for routine filings, plan to rebuild them in the new system well in advance of the December 7 deadline. A few practical suggestions:

  • Open the old site now and make a list of the templates you actually use. Note the court, case type, filing codes, parties, and service contacts each contains.
  • Recreate them in the new site while the old template is still available for side-by-side reference. This will be much easier than reconstructing them from memory in December.
  • Set your default county and case type in user settings first. Depending on your practice, that setting may replace several templates outright.
  • Assign the rebuild to one person in your office and give it a due date well before December 7.

What to Do Today

  1. Log in to the new site. Go to the OJD eFile page and click the green Start Now button. Confirm you can sign in and that your firm, users, attorneys, and payment accounts appear as expected. If you are unable to log in, contact Tyler Technologies for help (see below).
  2. Test it on a real filing. File something routine while the old site is still available as a backstop. Submit at least one filing from every workstation in your office.
  3. Set your defaults. Open user settings and choose your default county and case type.
  4. Rebuild your templates. They will not transfer. See above.
  5. Check your service contacts and email notifications. Make sure you are on the service contact list for your active cases and that your notification preferences are turned on under Profile > Email Notifications.
  6. Register for the October 29 PLF webinar. OJD staff will demonstrate the new site and flag common pitfalls. Registration closes at noon on October 27. Details below.
  7. Read the FAQs and watch the training videos. The OJD eFile page has Oregon-specific FAQs and short training videos on creating an account, filing a new case, and filing into an existing case.
  8. Add the following email to your safe-sender list: noreply@esolutions.tylerhost.net. Tyler Technologies has emailed all registered File & Serve users about the transition and has three more email blasts planned. Many filers reported never seeing the first one. Add  the email address listed above and the courts.oregon.gov domain to your safe-sender or allow list so the next notices reach your inbox rather than your junk folder, and ask your IT provider to do the same at the firm level.
  9. Brief your staff. Legal assistants and paralegals often do much of the filing. Make sure they are aware of the change, have their own logins, and are invited to the October 29 webinar.

Where to Get Help

The OJD eFile page is the hub for the transition. It has the Start Now button for the new site, a link to the old site, FAQs on registration, filing, eService, fees, and firm accounts, and Oregon-specific training videos:

If you experience issues with the new site, email the OJD Help desk at ojdhelp@ojd.state.or.us.

For questions about a specific filing or case, contact the clerk’s office at your local court.

Tyler Technologies will continue to provide technical support for the new site:

  • Phone: 800.297.5377, Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. Central (5:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Pacific)

  • Online: Tyler Help Center, or the Support link in the bottom left corner of the eFile welcome page

Tyler also offers online training sessions, though those are general rather than Oregon-specific.
