The PLF Welcomes New Board Member

The PLF is pleased to announce that Valerie Saiki (Salem) has been appointed as a new board member effective June 24, 2022.  Ms. Saiki's term will expire at the end of 2023.  

Valerie Saiki (Public Member) – Salem
Ms. Saiki received her B.S. in Occupational Safety and Risk Management from Oregon State University. She is a retired senior risk management consultant for public entities. Those entities include The State of Oregon, Marion County, City County Insurance Services, League of Oregon Cities, University of Oregon, Benton County, City of Albany, City of Corvallis, and Salem Keizer Public Schools.
Ms. Saiki’s work history includes over 30 years as a Loss Control/Risk and Insurance Management Consultant for Oregon public entities and 20+ years in self-insured liability programs. She spent many hours working with entity managers, city attorneys, county council and private contract attorneys on preventing, mitigating or defending claims against public entities. Post-retirement, she continued to consult on a number of topics including training for newly elected officials, workforce/employment management strategies and three different six-month stints as Interim Risk Manager for Salem Keizer Public Schools.

Ms. Saiki previously served as a public member on the PLF Board from 2010 through 2015.
