Oregon e-Court Upgrade and Service Interruption; Statewide Court Closure and Extension of Statutory Time Limitations

The Oregon Judicial Department (OJD) will be installing a major update this coming weekend to Odyssey, the case management system for Oregon circuit courts and the Oregon Tax Court. Here is what practitioners need to know about the upgrade:

  • Odyssey will be offline from 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 4, to 8:00 a.m. on Monday, October 7. Attorneys will not have access to OECI (Oregon eCourt Case Information) and other online court services during that time.
  • File & Serve and Guide & File will be available in a limited capacity during the upgrade. (Filers will have access to existing cases and will be able to create new cases, but courts will not be able to accept submitted documents or process fees until Monday, October 7.)
  • To ensure a smooth transition, all OJD courts (including the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court) will be closed on Tuesday, October 8. Due to the closure, Chief Justice Flynn has issued CJO 24-015, extending the statutory time limitation for filings pursuant to ORS 174.120(2)(c).
  • Attorneys who have hearings on October 7 or 9 are highly recommended to submit documents by Wednesday, October 2, to ensure that the court has timely access. Many courts will also limit the types of hearings scheduled on October 7.

If you have any questions regarding the system upgrade, please contact Sam Dupree, Senior Assistant General Counsel, Oregon Judicial Department, at L.S.Dupree@ojd.state.or.us.
